Insights Learning
and Development is the culmination of a fascinating and varied career
for Andrew M Lothian, the company's Chairman. A former professional Jazz
band-leader, music publisher and record producer, Andi hosted a TV series
in the 1960s and promoted rock acts including the Beatles and the Rolling
Stones.
In the 1970s and 80s Andi and wife Sheila established a network of financial services centres. In 1990, after a midlife desire to change career direction, and the sale of the family broking businesses to a national insurer, Andi, and son Andy set up a learning and development company that subsequently became Insights. A Chartered Insurer and Financial Accountant, Andi is a founder-member of the Society of Financial Advisors (MSFA); and a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Professionally, Andi attained Fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute, (FCII); and Fellowship of the Life Insurance Association, (FLIAdip).
In 1993 Andi's fascination with the psychology of self-development through enhanced self-understanding resulted in the initial trial of the Insights Discovery system. Incorporating modern technological advances, Insights remains true to the theories developed by the eminent Swiss psychologist Dr Carl G Jung. The Insights® system offers individuals and organisations heightened self-awareness, and a platform to re-build interpersonal relationships combining the essence of the 'Intelligences' - Mental, Emotional and Spiritual. Andi's interest in Jung as an expression of his own individuation process has continued through the study of Depth Psychology. Recent qualification as Attunement Practitioner, and as a Reiki Master, reinforce a continuing interest in matters of the psyche.
Holder of a Private Pilots license, Andi's other interests include daily swimming and occasional busking with his contra-bass.
Andi's expertise in typology makes him much in demand as a speaker, and he remains the driving force behind the ongoing research and development of the Discovery system and its remarkable association with Jung's concepts.
